NDICEA Newsletter

Beste NDICEA gebruiker,

Dit is NDICEA nieuwsbrief #6, verzonden aan allen die een account hebben bij ndiceaweb.eu. De nieuwsbrief verschijnt onregelmatig, als er zaken gedeeld moeten worden met de gebruikers. Meestal zal het gaan om nieuwe functionaliteit of aanpassing in de rekenregels.

U kunt u zelf afmelden voor ontvangst van de nieuwsbrief. Ga daarvoor naar ndiceaweb.eu, klik op het edit account icoon rechts boven in beeld, en haal het vinkje weg bij Nieuwsbrief.

1. Gebruikershandleiding en QuickStart

Handleiding
De handleiding is aangepast naar de nieuwe User Interface van versie 8. De uitleg van het model is minimaal, en er is geen onderdeel ‘interpretatie van de resultaten’. Dat wordt een apart document.

QuickStart
Het begin van de handleiding betreft een QuickStart instructie. Twee pagina’s met de minimale informatie om met NDICEA aan de slag te gaan en een scenario te maken.

2. Aanpassingen in de bestaande resultaatweergave

Grafiek ‘Weer’
Toegevoegd: neerslagtekort, lopend van 1 april tot 30 september. Het gaat om het verschil tussen potentiële verdamping (KNMI; Makkink) en neerslag. Het KNMI toont dit voor gemiddeld Nederland; in NDICEA wordt het per regio berekend.

Grafiek ‘Stikstof beschikbaarheid’ – onderzaai
Bij groenbemester onderzaai, dus twee gewassen op het zelfde moment, klopte de grafiek ‘Stikstof beschikbaarheid’ niet. Nu wel; je ziet de resultaten van de twee gewassen afzonderlijk, en in de overlappende tijd zijn er dus twee sets van grafieklijnen tegelijk.

Let op: de opbrengst van de groenbemester wordt berekend alsof het geen onderzaai betreft. Pas de opbrengst desgewenst aan: Edit gewas scherm → Geavanceerd → Berekende opbrengst → DS opbrengst handmatig invullen.

Grafiek ‘Stikstof beschikbaarheid’ – toekomstig weer
De grafiek met N-beschikbaarheid en N-opname kan ook bekeken worden met een toekomstverwachting: een envelop. De envelop wordt berekend met de hoogste en laagste waarde indien de berekening gedaan wordt met weersgegevens van de afgelopen vijf jaar.

Deze functie kunt u activeren onder Edit scenario, ‘Toekomstig weer envelop’ aanvinken.

3. Weersgegevens

Eigen weersgegevens gebruiken
Als je weersgegevens van een scenario downloadt als Excel file staan de kolommen in dezelfde volgorde (temperatuur – neerslag – verdamping) als de volgorde die je aantreft wanneer je via Edit scenario → eigen weerdata de lege template downloadt (csv format).

1. User manual and QuickStart

Manual
The manual has been updated to the new user interface of version 8. The explanation of the model is kept to a minimum, and there is no section on ‘interpretation of the results’. That will become a separate document.

QuickStart
The manual opens with a QuickStart instruction: two pages with the minimum you need to get started with NDICEA and build a scenario.

2. Changes to the existing results display

‘Weather’ graph
Added: the precipitation deficit, running from 1 April to 30 September. This is the difference between potential evapotranspiration (KNMI; Makkink) and rainfall. KNMI publishes this as a national average for the Netherlands; NDICEA calculates it per region.

‘Nitrogen availability’ graph – undersowing
With an undersown green manure – two crops growing at the same time – the ‘Nitrogen availability’ graph was incorrect. This has been fixed: you now see the results of the two crops separately, so during the overlapping period two sets of graph lines are shown side by side.

Please note: the yield of the green manure is calculated as if it were not undersown. Adjust the yield if you wish: Edit crop screen → Advanced → Calculated yield → enter the DM yield manually.

‘Nitrogen availability’ graph – future weather
The graph with N availability and N uptake can also be viewed with a forecast: an envelope. The envelope is calculated from the highest and lowest values obtained when the calculation is repeated with the weather data of the past five years.

You can switch this on under Edit scenario by ticking ‘Future weather envelope’.

3. Weather data

Using your own weather data
If you download the weather data of a scenario as an Excel file, the columns are in the same order (temperature – rainfall – evaporation) as in the empty template (csv format) that you download via Edit scenario → Custom weather.
